Plain text uploads and downloads 15 Years, 12 Months ago

Back on April 23, 2003, a request was made for a plain text upload/download feature; i.e., being able to send a text file over a serial port without using x/y/zmodem. Was this ever implemented?
I'd like to be able to send a text file with <cr> terminated lines out a serial port. I have a device that operates with commands over a serial interface and I'd like to be able to send it command scripts from AT. I don't really care about capturing it's responses; in fact, I'd like to discard anything that comes back from the device. It would be nice if the serial transfer options like delaying at the end of a line continues to work in this plain text mode, too...
By the way, someone's recent suggestion on how to get multiple tabs to start up with one click was a good one, it works well for me.

The plain-text upload feature has not yet been implemented, though I've thought about it for some time.
Yes, there are ways to start-up multiple tabs. Version 7 will have an official 'tab workspace' feature that allows groups of tabs to be saved & loaded.
