Questions about upgrade price and older versions 14 Years, 3 Months ago

Hi,
I bought Absolute Telnet version 6.28 a long time ago (more than two years, I think).
Since I'm not qualified for a free upgrade I will probably buy a new version next year.
However, I noticed that the current price is US$49.95 and I payed just US$29.95, so was there an increase in the software price (or did I get a discount related to a previous version)?
Also, if I buy the current version (8.x) can I switch to any previous versions (7.x and 6.x)?
Sincerely Yours,

Yes, the price has gone up since version 6. However, as a return customer you get a 30% discount of the current retail price. And yes, you can use the new license with previous versions, though I'm not sure why you'd want to.
