The sftp client has always worked from win10 to a linux vm.

We just added realm/AD authentication, which actually creates a home directory for the ad user. We login to an ad user, home dir is created etc.

But sftp fails, the sftp startup hangs. Only way out is to ctrl/c it and let it die, losing my session.

Any ideas?

At this point, AT is (attempting to) display(ing) the escape sequences for line drawing characters instead of interpreting and obeying them.

Then, the system has a command, "SET TERMINAL/INQUIRE" which is used to send ANSI-compliant escape sequences to the terminal to find out it's characteristics, emulation mode, etc. It appears those data are being both displayed AND interpreted...

Hello,

Tried using AT's SFTP to transfer files between Windows 7 and OpenVMS (Multinet V5.3 IP stack).

Transfer to the host goes just fine.

Transfer from the host returns this error:

Error:
Getting remote file size failed.
Invalid handle. Handle not found.

Click OK and it creates an empty file on the Windows PC.

Odd that it should report a problem getting the file size because it shows the size in the directory pane and when repeating the transfer attempt, it presents a dialog showing that it knows the server file is 990 bytes as shown in the directory pane.

Note sure what to make of that.

Any ideas?

I can create folders, rename existing files, delete files with no issue. Its uploading files that does not work.

WINSCP works fine for all aspects. Is there a setting missing?

At the end of every batch of file transfers I always get the following two non-fatal pop-up errors:

Tring to close handle I didn't open in
c:\celestial\source\cscommon\cs/istreampipe.h line 70

and

Tring to close handle I didn't open in
c:\celestial\source\cscommon\cs/streampipe.h line 142

I got these in the prior version as well, just never got around to reporting them. As I said they are non-fatal, I can click "OK" in the pop-ups and everything is fine. Just annoying. Oh, btw, "Tring" <sic> above is accurate, there is a typo in the error message -- the "y" is missing in what should be "Trying".

I need to transfer 32GB of data between two remote servers. I don't have room on the source server to create a compressed archive.

Can I use the SFTP gui to do this without having to download to my local machine? I.e. can I have one server on the left and the other on the right and transfer files between them?

Thanks

In some cases, it's minutes, not seconds, and freezes the user interface. This feature is basically not usable for me because of this.

I'm not sure what language AT is written in, but if you're using a standard Windows list object, sending a WM_SETREDRAW message to the control before (with FALSE for wParam) and after (with TRUE for wParam) building the file listing can reduce the amount of time by several orders of magnitude. At least the portion of building the list that occurs in Windows APIs anyway.
