We have a license for 50 users we have been running on a Windows 2008 server for several years now. Works great. Had to do some configuration so the users do not have to enter the license every time they use it. We are now having to upgrade to Windows server 2016 due to support expiring for 2008. We are unable to get it work like it did on 2008 where the users do not have to enter the license every time they use it. I found a question in the forums stating that take the AbsoluteTelnet.trg file from a working system and put it in the Absolute Telnet base install on the replacement server but that did not work either.

Any ideas how to get this to work on Windows 2016 without having to enter the license every time?

Which version of Absolute?

Can you try 'run as admin' once and enter the license key while running as admin? That may get the license to 'stick' for subsequent non-admin runs.

Brian,
Opening as administrator and entering the license worked. We are good to go now. Thanks for the help.

Brian,
I just talked to the server admin and he tried your suggestion to open it as administrator and apply the license and that worked. We are good to go now. Thanks for the help.
