Greetings,

We are having a problem when scrolling back in the AbsoluteTelnet window to view session history. When certain commands are issued, they overwrite session history if it has not yet scrolled off the screen. The easiest example of this behavior is using the VI editor.

If I execute a directory list command:

xpcs10_root# cd /xp/xpvs
xpcs10_root# ls -lt
total 49224
drwxrwxr-x 14 root staff 32768 Apr 18 15:01 TEMP
-rwxrwxr-x 1 root staff 2662844 Apr 18 14:44 xpchk.out
-rwxrwxr-x 1 root staff 44173 Apr 18 12:01 p2main.out
drwxrwxr-x 9 root staff 4096 Apr 18 02:01 JP
drwxrwxr-x 2 root staff 4096 Apr 17 16:00 xpwlogs
-rwxrwxr-x 1 root staff 11582 Apr 16 14:19 d1m_.out

Then immediately after I use the VI editor for a file:

xpcs10_root# vi d1m_.out

Once I return from the VI session and try to use the vertical scroll bar to scroll up, I find that any contents of my directory list command that were still displayed on my active screen can no longer be seen.

If I write the session output to a log file, then this behavior does not occur (although the VI section of the log is unreadable, but it doesn't overwrite previous content).

We are using VT220 emulation. Please let me know what other information would be relevant in troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks in advance for your help! 🙂
