I am using the 12.18 version of Absolute Telnet on a windows11 upgrade. I had been using the 11.21 version for years on Windows 10.

Now when I want to download a binary file over a serial/USB port to another computer (An S100 bus system) It fails to even highlight

Transfer->send->XModem even though I have the correct COM port.

If I first transfer file data using the Arduino IDE to a ESP32 module externally using a different USB port

the suddenly the above "send" is active/highlighted.

A few questions:-

What Serial settings are needed for a USB interface. baud rate, hardware on/off etc.

Why does the "send" not get highlighted every time.

Finally on startup I have to click on "Untitled.tnt" the Unlock to get to then Options and Transfer options. Is there a way on startup to get to this option directly ever time.

Well good news I finally got Absolute Telnet working again.
In its "Connection Properties"->"Global" I cleared "Global Defaults". Now its working fine with the USB port on the Serial board -- not sure why.

Global defaults should only take effect as the defaults for new connections.  If you set everything the way you want it, then File->Save AS   (myarduinoserver.tnt) or whatever, when you double-click myserver.tnt, you should get only those settings.  Sounds like you may have figured it out.

If you can be more specific about the unlock problem I may be able to help.  I'm not sure what's going on there yet.
