Sometimes I copy text to be pasted into a string/file/query (via your application) and it has an emoji character, perhaps like this:
👋

It fails, but the connection's properties indicate that "Translation" is set to UTF-8.

Is there a different configuration option to allow 4-byte UTF-8 characters to be pasted to the application?

Hey Brian!!

You're in luck!  I've been working on some updates in version 13.16 that improve Unicode handling and display considerably.  The latest improvements update Unicode handling to Unicode 17, Including new Unicode characters and lookup tables, emoji, surrogate pairs, emoji modifiers, zero width joiners, among other things...

13.16 is still in beta, but you can try it here.  Should be 'official' in a few days.  I'd lover another pair of eyes on it when you get a chance:

In the extreme, this 25 byte emoji includes the man + woman + boy + girl emoji with ZWJ (zero width joiners) to create a 'family' emoji.
