NEW: Notcurses support

AbsoluteTelnet/SSH Version 14 introduces full support for notcurses, the ‘blingful’ TUI library. Notcurses pushes terminals to their limits, exercising throughput, font coverage, line drawing and graphics to their breaking points. The notcurses-info test alone demonstrates most of that, illustrating coverage of various line draw sets, braille, geometric shapes, graphics and supported terminal modes. notcurses-demo exercises throughput, character width, sizing, and placement through a series of intense demos.

Supporting all of this required some of the deepest terminal work we’ve ever shipped:

  • Unicode 17 support — width tables and character properties current through Unicode 17.0
  • Octant, sextant, and braille blitters — including the Unicode 16 block octants most terminals don’t render yet
  • Kitty graphics protocol — including animation support
  • 24-bit true color rendering
  • Grapheme cluster width handling — so complex text measures the way modern applications expect

The demo puts us to the test…. Full frame animations of both graphics and text
