Cannot get SSH connection 4 Years, 10 Months ago
|

I recently purchased version 5.35.
However, I cannot get a SSH connection to my Solaris servers using password authentication.
Instead I get an error message. "Connection failed. Winsock error. No router to host".
But it works without any problems using TeraTerm.
I have also tried disabling my AVG firewall but this has no effect.
So why cannot not get a connection?
I am running Windows XP with SP2.

Ok,
A few suggestions....
1. Make sure you're using exactly the same hostname as on teraterm.
2. Are you using ssh1 or ssh2? Try the other and see if there is a difference
3. Make sure you don't have proxy enabled (may not be connecting to the host you think you are)
Let me know if these help. If not, come back here and I'll think on it some more.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
To clarify matters further :
(1) I am connecting using an IP address, not a hostname
(2) proxy is not enabled
(3) it makes no difference whether I use ssh1 or ssh2
So in a nutshell, I can telnet to the servers but cannot get a ssh connection to them (unless I use TeraTerm).
