Moises,

I've got a new beta version that addresses this issue. 'Remember position' now recalls the maximized state, so we should be close to what your needs are. There's also a new feature to set default values for every single option using the 'Global Defaults' feature. See Options->Properties->Global.

To use this feature, just set all the program options you want, including colors, fonts, connection type, terminal settings, etc... Go to Options->Properties->Global and save the default values. Then, every time you start AbsoluteTelnet all you have to do is supply the hostname of your new connection and voila!

You can download it here:

Let me know how it goes....

since the beta expires 4/28 I'll just wait for the next full release instead of installing a beta.

Well... I was hoping you could try it out as it specifically seems to address your needs. If I can't get outside confirmation that this is working well, it likely won't be in the next production release.

3 points:

1. I noticed a small bug. After I select maximized screen and 'remember position' and save, then when I later want to use a smaller screen (for ex. if I want to view 2 screens side by side) I cannot do so, until I unclick 'remember position', save, close the program and reopen it. Then I can adjust the screen to a smaller size. But then afterwards I have to reset the screen to maximum and set 'remember position' and save. All of this is a slight hassle. I should be able to use a smaller screen any time.

2. My trial period ends in 9 days. I'd like to extend that period if possible to continue testing.

3. when I am ready to purchase, can I just continue using 2.13 rc12? I'd prefer to, as I understand that the next release v2.12 wont have the 'remember position at maximum' option.

Please excuse all the questions.

Moises,

You should still be able to un-maximize the window even with the remembered position flag set. You may get confused by the fact that when you un-maximize, the window *might* still be the same size in the same position as the maximized window. The difference is, though, that you'll be able to move it and resize it. I'll look at the code and see if there is anything I can do to address this.
